Preconstruction Engineer

Ordner Construction is a 30-year-old commercial general contractor looking for an experienced Estimator with a minimum of 5 years of construction estimating experience for our corporate office in Duluth, GA.

Job Summary:

The Preconstruction Engineer is an entry-level position which supports all estimating functions. .The primary objective of a Preconstruction Engineer is to assist in gathering, calculating, and compiling data for use in bid proposal estimates. As well as responsible for reproduction of drawings and other documents.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in gathering and researching company historical data used in the estimating process.

2. Prepare basic documents per instructions.

3. Calculate material quantity requirements (i.e. take-offs) from construction drawings at the direction of Estimating personnel.

4. Help with invitation to bids and subcontractor/vendor solicitation

5. Participate in developing project updates and bid package/estimate documents.

6. Maintain files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures.

7. Perform routine clerical duties such as setting up new files, maintaining department files, reproducing documents, drawings, etc. for inclusion in bid proposals.

8. Participate in estimating training program within Ordner Construction.

9. Scan in bid documents (plans, specifications and reports).

10. Post Bid Documents on iSqFt and drop box for distribution to subcontractors and suppliers.

11. Assist Pre-Construction Department in the bid solicitation process.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
