About Us
If you like a company that’s big enough to provide stability yet small enough that you can make decisions and move fast, Engelsma Homes is the place for you. We are a custom builder that has been serving West Michigan for over 20 years. We transform lives and landscapes by creating extraordinary homes where every detail reflects our commitment to excellence, innovation, and meaningful connection. Our office and production area are tucked back in the woods where we can be inspired by the beauty of the landscape. And our talented and dedicated team members describe our culture as driven, supportive, and rewarding. We feel the combination of great people and culture are a key factor in creating beautiful spaces our clients love. That makes sense because “team first” and “drive to get things done” are two of our core values. We feel the combination of great people and culture are a key factor in creating beautiful spaces our clients love.
About this role:
As the Pre-Construction & Administrative Coordinator, you’ll be the driving force in keeping the pre-construction process running smoothly. This dynamic role will provide administrative support in a variety of areas including permitting, pre-construction administration, marketing and sales. From pulling permits to preparing promotional materials, you’ll support the team behind the scenes and help bring our projects to the housing market. In this full-time role, you'll play a key role in coordinating operational tasks across pre-construction, sales, and development activities. In this role, you will:
•Use your three years of administrative support experience and associate’s degree in business administration (or a related field) to coordinate and track the permitting process from start to finish—submitting applications, staying in touch with permitting agencies, and keeping everything organized and compliant.
•Keep projects moving forward by communicating with utility companies to coordinate installations, relocations, and resolve any conflicts that could delay construction.
•Stay on top of the processing home building documents. Draft, process and maintain sales agreements, development contracts, property records, surveys, land documents and bid packages—making sure nothing slips through the cracks. Must be able to type at least 60 words per minute and be willing to learn pre-construction processes if not already familiar.
•Drive results while keeping projects on time and on budget. Track project timelines and work with contractors, title companies, and escrow to ensure things are on schedule. You’ll regularly report progress and flag any roadblocks early.
•Support the team by providing day-to-day office support like answering phones, managing calendars, scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, and keeping our workspace running smoothly and stocked. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
•Help us grow by pitching in on marketing and sales tasks—think updating listings and promo materials, scheduling photo shoots, creating info packets, and tracking budgets and campaign efforts. You'll make us look good with your skills using Microsoft Office and other common business software.
What you will get:
•Opportunity to grow your leadership skills while supporting high-impact projects at a top residential construction firm
•The chance to support bringing people’s dream homes to the market[CP1]
•A workspace with a great view of the woods in our new office building
