Powerline Technician (journeyperson)

Overview:

Participates as a member of the Transmission Distribution Operations division and performs Journeyperson level work in the construction and maintenance of electrical transmission and distribution systems, including substations underground and streetlight systems. This position is based out of Hay River , however routine work area encompasses all communities in the South Slave and Taltson Hydro site. May be assigned to support any of NTPC’s service areas including the Beaufort Delta, Dehcho / Sahtu, North/South Slave, hydro sites and remote transmission lines.

Please note this is NOT a fly-in/rotational position - it does require the successful candidate to relocate to/live in Hay River, and must be willing & able to travel throughout the regions.

Certification as a Journeyperson Power Lineperson (must provide proof during screening), with an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Power Lineperson Certification preferred, and a minimum of one (1) year of directly related experience in the installation and maintenance of power distribution line systems required. Equivalencies may* be considered.

Salary for this position ranges from $50.05/hr - $60.81/hr, plus location allowance of approximately $3,823 per annum and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes Health and Dental Benefits, Life Insurance, paid Sick Days and a Defined Pension Plan. Relocation assistance may be provided. Please note this is NOT a fly-in/rotational position - it does require the successful candidate to relocate to/live in Hay River, NT, and must be willing & able to travel throughout the regions.
