Engineer II: $81,000 - $101,200 - $121,400
Staff Engineer: $90,500 - $113,100 - $135,700
Sr Engineer: $91,600 - $122,100 - $152,600
Lead Engineer: $107,900 - $143,800 - $179,800
Principal Engineer: $112,500 - $150,000 - $187,500
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (additional hours as required)
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The utility industry is changing. To be prepared for these changes, it is imperative that the electrical transmission and distribution systems are planned accordingly. Evergy is seeking a self-motivated individual to help its transmission and distribution planning (transmission planning, T&D planning) organization perform engineering studies and develop systems to address the multitude of changes taking place with how energy is produced and used.
Education and Experience Requirements:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, nuclear engineering, systems engineering, or mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university is required. Candidates must have at least two years of experience in the power industry, with a preference for those who also have a minimum of two years of power system planning experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel at an intermediate level is essential, along with hands-on experience using power system simulation software such as PSSE, PowerWorld, ETAP, Synergi Electric, or CYME. While not mandatory, holding a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
Working Conditions:
Normal office working conditions. Must be able to work remotely/independently after initial onboarding/training.
