Our Power System Operation Engineer position will give you the opportunity to develop and/or expand your knowledge about how power is generated, delivered across vast distances, and provided directly to our local customers. Your engineering expertise ensures it is done safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of people who all play a role in keeping the power grid running, as you support all aspects of how electricity is utilized and managed. Provides engineering support including technical analysis, implementation, operation, and maintenance of SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and network applications (state estimator and real-time contingency analyzer), power system simulator, and other department technical services. Aids in maintaining the plans, processes, and procedures required for grid operation and ensures full compliance with applicable regulatory standards related to assigned area. Analyzes and assists in transmission and distribution system outage coordination. Leads small to medium projects with minimal guidance. Assists with training and provides engineering support to System Operators and System Operator Trainers. Acts as on-call engineer, as assigned, outside normal working hours. Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
