The Power Solutions Engineer {"PSE"} drives increased specification, compliance and acceptance by building relationships with engineering firms, general and electrical contractors, and end users focusing on datacenter, education, healthcare and manufacturing sectors. The PSE leverages all vendor solutions including multi-asset deployments of micro-grid controllers, large node UPS and standby power generation, energy storage and solar, EV charging and asset management and monitoring to expand market participation, and quote rate. The PSE creates value by differentiating product and service solutions as well as organizational capabilities from competitors, positively influences specifications to create advantage on bids, and develops competitive proposals. Knowledge of UPS', batteries, generators, power distribution equipment, and transfer switches, and a keen technical and commercial aptitude is a must.
Reporting Relationship: The Power Solutions Engineer reports to the Vice President, Sales AC Power and Generation
Hunter's mentality; driving consistent, repeated engagement for new, prospective and existing engineers, contractors and end-users and extensive networking through their organization.
Identifies and builds relationships with customers across specified territory
Improves Key Sales Metrics- market participation, quotation velocity and average value, specification rate, acceptance and win rate for large node and multi-asset projects
Is a subject matter expert on all new products and applications with a major focus on Generac and Eaton
Delivers accredited training for engineers- virtual, live/in-office and factory supported fly-ins
Reads plans and specifications to properly configure Generac and Eaton solutions
Participates in trade industry groups and associations- periodically present out to members
Develop key supplier relationships- supporting technical, commercial and service
Participates in weekly, quarterly and annual team meetings
Creates annual business objectives, sales and marketing plans
Utilize all available IT resources and vendor applications
Involve Sales and Vendor Management in customer visits when practical.
Maintain excellent records, manage receipts, and expense reports

Extensive knowledge of industrial standby power generation, UPS and battery systems, energy storage/solar, EV charging, power distribution, monitoring and management software, complimentary equipment and relevant applications
Excellent planning and time management skills with the ability to proactively schedule time in and out-of-office is a must.
4-year degree, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Masters degree preferred
5 years of proven experience in technical sales or applications engineering role
Extensive travel and time out of office is required 50%.
