Power Electronics Technician

(Please note, this is a full-time onsite (HQ in Irvine, CA)

We currently have an opening for a Power Electronics Technician at our Irvine facility in Orange County, who will be part of the stationary team. The Technician will specialize in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and be involved in assembling, installing, and testing these systems. This role will be crucial in the successful implementation of our new BESS technology. The compensation range for these roles is $30-$40 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the assembly, installation, and testing of electrical-related components

- Follow service guides, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.

- Repair or replace defective components

- Reassemble and test equipment after equipment repairs are completed.

- Create test plans, coordinate with the commissioning team, and test systems.

- Complete assignments individually and efficiently in a multi-system environment.

- Coordinate with subcontractors

Required Education & Experience:

- Previous experience with Power Electronics equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

- At least 5yrs with Electronics and Electrical test equipment: multi-meters, voltage and current probes, oscilloscopes, functional generators, power analyzers, LCR meters, electronics AC/DC loads.

- Must be able to correctly identify and have knowledge of electrical and electronics components.

- Experience reading and interpreting assembly/test instructions, engineering standards/prints, and schematics.

- Must have experience of using hand tools, drills & air tools.

- Required Education: Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology

Preferred Skills:

- Spanish language is a plus

- Certification such as CETa is a plus

- Attention to detail and a strong ability to focus on key attributes are important

- Have good verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

- Must be self-motivated and able to stay on task with good attention to detail.

- Must maintain a clean and organized work environment.

- If the candidate has BESS or PCS experience this could be preferable

Travel Requirements: The ideal candidate will be required to travel interstate where required (10%-15%)
