Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior crude oil and natural gas exploration, and production company focused on long-term growth through an active exploration, development, production and acquisition program in the western Canadian sedimentary basin.
We are currently seeking a Power & Gas Superintendent to join our Alternative Power and Gas Team. This Calgary-based position will oversee the daily operations of the team, manage Supervisors, and support strategic initiatives across Tourmaline’s operations.
Reporting to the Team Lead, Alternative Power and Gas, the Superintendent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Schedule and manage Alternative Power and Gas Supervisors’ workdays, holidays, and ensure compliance with Alberta and BC legal requirements.
- Collaborate with field supervisors to ensure the safe and proper tie-in and operation of all Tourmaline fuel gas scrubbers, pipe racks, crossings, and electrical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with ABSA vessel requirements and maintain accurate tracking in SharePoint/MarsWorks.
- Maintain accurate fuel gas scrubber tracking in SharePoint and update as needed.
- Validate scrubber fuel gas numbers in Zedi Access and Prodview accounting system.
- Optimize fuel gas consumption across drilling rigs and completion operations while identifying new growth opportunities.
- Promote consistency in natural gas substitution across all operations.
- Mentor and train field supervisors on CMDS training, validating competencies where required.
- Plan preventative mechanical services in alignment with manufacturer service guidelines.
- Assist in sourcing mechanical parts and contractors for fuel gas scrubber maintenance.
- Ensure contractors are enrolled in Tourmaline’s ComplyWorks system, follow the company’s Safety, Health and Environment Manual, and meet OH&S standards.
- Partner with fuel gas scrubber manufacturers and E&I teams to improve scrubber package designs.
- Coordinate with facilities construction to confirm pipeline and riser readiness prior to rig arrival.
- Schedule and track mechanical maintenance for NG and diesel generators, entering records into SharePoint/MarsWorks.
- Participate in annual break-up maintenance on all Power & Gas mechanical equipment
- Experience in completions and production operations departments is considered an asset.
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ related Oil & Gas experience in field operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with D365, SharePoint, Wellman, Smartsheet, and ComplyWorks.
- Strong communication skills—listening, verbal, and written.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with proven success managing competing priorities.
