POWDER COAT TECHICIAN
Reports to: Plant Manager
General Description: To Manage and maintain the powder coat side of the production line and provide mechanical solutions to general problems around the facility. Must have the ability to multitask.
1. Education: HS diploma or GED required.
2. Training: Provided on the job and supplemented with external seminars/classes.
3. Skills: See “Key Competencies” section below.
4. Experience: None required. At least 3 years of production or maintenance experience in coatings preferred.
Specific Accountabilities:
1) Powder System
•Setting-up powder coating systems
•Monitoring coat quality for proper cure, adhesion, and coat thickness
•Maintaining Equipment, Organization, and Cleanliness of Powder System
•Check finished piece for appearance.
•Changing colors during shift efficiently (manually or color module for automated system)
•Documenting Production Checklists
•Verification of the coating of parts/products per customer requirements/needs
•Monitor and track raw materials.
2) Ovens
•Monitor and track all ovens.
3) General
•General facility maintenance
•Back up/Cross train with Systems Technician
•Complete Planned Preventive Maintenance
•Working in a team setting to direct/work with others in packaging and labeling.
•Complete other duties as assigned.
•Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
•Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking and bending.
•Stay passed scheduled shift as needed for preventive maintenance
