# Job Description Summary

As a Post Doc - Controls / AI, you will enable the Energy Transition through the development of models, advanced controls, optimization, and AI. You will contribute to R&D programs aligned with GE Vernova’s energy businesses such as Renewable Energy, Gas Power, Grid Solutions, and Power Conversion as well as with U.S. Government Agencies.

We forge the partnerships and invent the technologies required to electrify and decarbonize for a zero-carbon future.

Representing virtually every major scientific and engineering discipline, our researchers are collaborating with GE Vernova’s businesses, the U.S. government, and more than 420 technology partners to execute on 150+ energy-focused projects. Collectively, these research programs and initiatives aim to solve near term technical challenges, deliver next generation product advances, and drive long term breakthrough innovation to enable more affordable, reliable, sustainable, and secure energy

This is a 12-month Post-Doctoral Researcher position.

# Job Description

Required Qualifications:

- Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering

- Minimum GPA 3.5 / 4.0 scale

- Proficiency in MATLAB, C, and Python

- AI / Reinforcement Learning Experience

- Stochastic Optimization Experience

- Must be 18 years of age or older

Desired Characteristics:

- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques and the application of those in a controls context

- Strong track-record of first-author publications in reputable academic journals and conferences

- Experience in several of the following topics: Machine Learning and Deep Learning; Signal, Image and Video Processing; Edge, Distributed and Collaborative Computing; Communications and Networking; Real-Time Systems;

- Hands-on experience with software development, simulations, parallel/GPU computation, and cloud computing services.

- Interest in writing grant proposals

The salary range for this position is $85,600 - $140,000 USD, annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. This position will remain posted until at least September 25th, 2025.
