Job Overview – Plumbing Superintendent

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plumbing Superintendent to oversee plumbing-specific scopes of construction projects from inception to completion. This role is crucial in ensuring plumbing systems are installed efficiently, meet all applicable codes, and align with project timelines and budgets. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, a solid foundation in plumbing systems and construction practices, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

•

Manage day-to-day plumbing operations on the construction site, ensuring compliance with safety standards and plumbing codes.

•

Supervise and coordinate plumbers, subcontractors, and related trades for plumbing systems installation.

•

Review and interpret plumbing blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure proper installation.

•

Collaborate with the general contractor and other trade superintendents to coordinate plumbing work with other building systems.

•

Use construction estimating software (such as HeavyBid) to contribute to plumbing-specific budgets and estimates.

•

Ensure all work aligns with OSHA and local plumbing codes for a safe and compliant worksite.

•

Track project milestones, resolve plumbing-related issues, and report progress to project management.

•

Utilize project management platforms like ProCore for scheduling, documentation, and coordination.

•

Conduct regular site inspections to enforce quality control and adherence to deadlines for plumbing scopes.

Experience

•

Proven experience as a Plumbing Superintendent or supervisory role in plumbing construction.

•

Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, methods, and applicable codes/regulations.

•

Proficient in reading and interpreting plumbing blueprints and technical drawings.

•

Experience with plumbing estimates and scheduling, preferably using tools like HeavyBid.

•

Demonstrated ability to manage plumbing crews and foster teamwork on-site.

•

Strong understanding of OSHA safety protocols and plumbing industry standards.

•

Ability to communicate effectively with clients, engineers, architects, and general contractors.
