We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumbing Excavation Technician to join our team. This role involves performing excavation work to install, repair, or replace underground plumbing systems including water lines, sewer lines, and drainage systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with trenching, operating heavy equipment, and working in coordination with plumbers and site supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:
•Perform excavation and trenching for plumbing installations and repairs.
•Safely operate machinery such as backhoes, excavators, and trenchers.
•Assist plumbers with locating and accessing underground piping.
•Ensure all work meets local plumbing and safety codes.
•Restore work sites after plumbing tasks are completed (e.g., backfilling trenches, site cleanup).
•Identify and avoid underground utilities using blueprints or locating tools.
•Communicate clearly with crew members, supervisors, and clients.
•Adhere to OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
•Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in residential and commercial properties.
•Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively to complete plumbing tasks.
•Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used during service calls.
•Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their plumbing needs.
•Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters, to ensure seamless project completion.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED preferred.
•1–3 years of excavation, plumbing, or construction experience.
•Ability to read blueprints and site plans is a plus.
•Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
•Knowledge of utility location and soil types.
•Physical stamina and ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
