Operates the plasma machine to ensure cut quality and efficiency while maintaining a safe work environment.
· By reviewing the nest rotation, employee identifies which nests are scheduled to be processed.
· Uses measuring devices to determent plate dimensions and quality before cutting.
· Enters nest and plate data into the Burny.
· Operates plasma machine by initiating and ending cut programing while monitoring cut quality.
· Performs “First Article Inspection” to ensure cut quality and part dimensions.
· Monitors consumable’s lifespan and gas pressures to ensure cut quality.
· Reports any quality, quantity, or dimension issues.
· Assist with moving finished parts to order pallets and/or Press Brake area
· Assist with grinding or loading and unloading needs.
· Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area.
· Position requires use of Personal Protective Equipment (Safety glasses, gloves, and steel toe boots).
· Complete training in safety practices, shop procedures, grinding, overhead crane, and forklift.
· Ability to communicate issues and strategies with co-workers and supervisor.
· Ability to use a tape measurement or other measuring devices.
· Requires standing, bending, twisting, and repetitive movement.
· Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
· Requires lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.
· Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures.
