The Operator is responsible for operations of our DAC (Direct Air Capture) equipment in Brighton, CO. The Operator will conduct and monitor plant operation in a safe manner, perform routine maintenance of mechanical systems including pneumatic, hydraulic, and boiler systems, and assist engineering staff with ongoing experiments in the rapidly growing Direct Air Capture industry. Candidates for this position must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
● Work closely with engineering staff to perform corrective maintenance to process equipment
● Assist in the research and development of new process operations
● Perform safe startup, shutdown, and operation of various equipment including boilers, air
compressors, and rotating equipment including fans and pumps
● Respond to time sensitive alerts and take corrective action as necessary
● Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on multiple pieces of equipment and document using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
● Perform troubleshooting on equipment to identify root causes of failures, identify and perform
● Change-out valves, seals, flow meters and other mechanical parts
● Monitor and control equipment parameters to make necessary adjustments on control systems and manually operated equipment
● Certificate or Associate's Degree in plant operations or related field preferred
● Experience reading Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), mechanical drawings, and
● Understanding of general process operation basics including pressure, heat transfer, and fluid flow
● Familiarity with plant control systems and/or Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for automated
● Experienced in the safe use and operation of hand tools and power tools
● Ability and willingness to adhere to company and OSHA safety protocols
