As Plant Director
you will be responsible for leading and managing all operational activities at a single manufacturing facility. This role drives long-term strategic planning, ensures alignment with company objectives, and oversees all aspects of production to deliver safe, high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing processes. The Plant Director plays a key role in establishing goals, improving technologies, developing talent, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Lead all plant operations, including but not limited to: Manufacturing and production, production control and scheduling, equipment and facilities management, Inventory management, shipping, receiving, and materials functions (including purchasing, where applicable)
- Translate customer requirements into efficient manufacturing strategies and processes.
- Develop and implement operations-related plans, budgets, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce cost, and improve product quality.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and sales leaders to resolve operational issues and support business objectives.
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams; provide oversight for both hourly and salaried staff, including: Performance reviews, talent development and succession planning, pay decisions, hiring and termination actions.
- Champion a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategies to meet goals.
- Establishes operational objectives, policies, and work plans; delegates assignments and monitors execution.
- Applies an advanced understanding of plant operations and sound awareness of the broader business and market landscape.- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with 5+ years in plant leadership or multi-functional management/supervisory roles.
- Proven track record in solving complex operational challenges and driving measurable results in safety, quality, production, and cost.
- Experience leading large-scale projects and cross-functional initiatives with significant business impact.
- 1-2+ years of budget management and resource planning responsibility preferred.- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams, including management-level direct reports.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leadership and managing sensitive situations.
- Background in metals processing or related heavy manufacturing environment required.
This position has some travel and is based in Baltimore, Maryland
