Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Mill Maintenance Planner to join our team and play a key role in optimizing equipment reliability, minimizing unplanned downtime, and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing job plans, identifying required resources, and coordinating with operations, maintenance technicians, and schedulers to ensure all work is effectively planned and ready for execution.
This role is critical to shifting our maintenance culture from reactive to planned, and ensuring high asset availability across the mill.
Core Responsibilities
•Maintenance planning and analysis in accordance with the company maintenance process standards.
•Communication and coordination of the daily and weekly maintenance schedules.
•Reporting key maintenance performance indicators.
•Ensure the accuracy of the data for the computerized maintenance management system.
•Development of standard job plans.
•Effectively manage work order backlog.
•Work closely with operational department, maintenance personnel and planners.
•Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner and that all work areas maintain or exceed all OHSC standards.
•Knowledge and understanding of Gibraltar Environmental Management System (EMS).
•Work with the Technical Services Department to help analyze, identify and develop remedial actions for equipment issues.
•Attend daily 8:00 planning meeting with updates and daily objectives.
•Effective use of the yearly maintenance budget and strong awareness of cost controls.
Education & Experience
•High School Diploma of equivalent.
•Preferably a Certified Journeyman tradesperson familiar with fixed plant equipment and conveying systems with training in planning systems and processes.
•Consideration for EIT with heavy industry experience
Skills & Competencies
•Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving skills, and organizational skills.
•Computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office.
•Experience at a production mining operation would be an asset.
•Working knowledge of BC Health, Safety & Reclamation Code.
•Experience with a computerized materials management system would be an asset.
