Wood is recruiting for an Senior Piping Designer to join its Projects business focusing on projects across the Oil & Gas sector.
The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Intermediate/Senior Piping Designer to support the Calgary office. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in piping design within an EPC environment and the ability to deliver quality layouts and modeling using leading software tools, all while engaging effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

•Develop and maintain 3D piping models using various modeling software
•Create moderate to complex layouts of areas and modules
•Model large equipment and produce piping designs for integration
•Review and incorporate vendor information into design packages
•Adhere to industry codes, standards, and best practices
•Generate and check detailed drawings and deliverables
•Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
•Communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders
•Support on-site construction as required
•Deliver high-quality work under time and budget constraint
Expected:
•Diploma or certificate in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or related technical discipline
•Minimum 10 years of piping design and layout experience
•Strong understanding of industry codes and standard practices
•Proficiency in relevant design and modeling software
•Previous experience in upstream Oil Sands projects preferred
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
•Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment
•Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
Desirable:
•Familiarity with specific EPC piping systems and documentation practices
•Knowledge of emerging trends in digital design and modeling tools
•Experience mentoring junior designers
