The Piping Designer is responsible for the production of piping and equipment drawings using AutoCad and CADWorx software in compliance to Anvil or the Clients standards and specifications. The position produces material take offs using Anvils Pipe Track program, performs field surveys, assembles piping documents for verification, validation, approval, and construction, and performs a self-check of all documents created and snoop all drawings.
- Duties involve all aspects of process piping design
- Equipment and Piping layout (light to medium in complexity)
- Checking piping documents (light to medium in complexity)
- Produce all documents and drawings required to: fabricate pipe spools, purchase materials and assemble piping systems
- Develop line lists and tie-in lists.
- Develop Scopes of Work.
- Strong communication, organization, and computer skills (Microsoft software)
- 3D modeling design experience in CADworx - Required
- Applicant should be motivated, have good analytical skills, and enjoy working in a challenging team environment.
- Able to provide project design assistance on small to medium projects ($50K-$250K) from conception through detailed design.
- Demonstrates ability to assist in design retrofits in congested operating areas.
- Finished product meets all safety in design requirement and is easily operable and maintainable.
- Maintains an excellent understanding of AUTOCAD, or similar software.
Applicants must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
- A.A.S. or higher in engineering or related discipline
8-15 years experience in process pipe design in hydrocarbon service, including layout, production piping and checking
- Able to sit/stand, type, and perform computer work for long periods of time.
- Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer entry and answering phones.
- Able to perform occasional bending, lifting, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs if necessary.
- Field trips to job sites (local and/or remote), with travel and remote site assignments.
