Seeking an experienced driver that is familiar with the Grayling & Mio area to perform the following duties: Start wage of 19.00
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Load peddle truck/tanker truck with petroleum products and deliver them to customers while adhering to all company and governmental regulations.
- Operate peddle truck/tanker truck in accordance to company policies and state/federal laws.
- Transport loads along required/best route to proper destination while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Check rear wheels of truck and trailer before unloading (if required)
- Complete and turn in all paperwork on a daily basis.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and pass random cleanliness inspections.
- Perform daily safety inspections on equipment and fill out Vehicle Inspection Report to be turned in with paperwork.
- Report any equipment malfunctions and/or concerns to the Transport Manager
- Have thorough knowledge of and the ability to use loading arms and pump atloading racks, use auxiliary pumps for loading and unloading of the vehicle, and usespill kits and fire extinguisher.
- Perform specific tasks as assigned by the Transport Manager.
- Give all customers prompt and courteous service.
- Use tact and diplomacy while interacting with customers and non-customers alike in accordance with the Company Policy Manual.
- Promote and support Company image standards, both to equipment and to self.
- Adhere to all city, county, and state regulations.
- Follow the work schedule as dispatched unless otherwise discussed and arranged with the Transport Manager and/or dispatchers
- Be available to work on call on Saturdays & Sundays
- Be available to work holidays if necessary
- Properly log and maintain the Driver Daily Log book.
- Work in a “SAFE” manner at all times and following guidelines and policies with our Company, Saftey Coordinator
- Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's license (Class B) with air brakes, hazardous material, and tanker endorsements.
- Meet Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and medical requirements.
- Pass substance abuse screening and agree to random substance abuse screening as required by Company Policy and DOT
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos/notes.
- Ability to communicate using cell phones
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in different units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the job including; but not limited to, the following:
