Position Summary:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine to moderately complex payroll tasks and assists with special assignments and projects related to the company’s payroll operations.
What You Will Do
•Process union and/or non-union payroll accurately and on time
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records
•Retrieve and review employee timesheets to ensure accuracy prior to importing into accounting software
•Calculate and process final paychecks for departing employees
•Print checks and prepare direct deposit files, as applicable
•Track and process garnishments and other special payroll deductions
•Manage workflow to ensure accurate and timely payroll transactions
•Respond promptly and professionally to employee payroll inquiries
•Identify, research, and resolve payroll discrepancies
•Comply with the PRIME Safety Program by adhering to all safety procedures and practices
•Performs other duties as assigned
What You Will Need to be Successful
•Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet strict deadlines
•Excellent problem-solving and judgment skills
•High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness
•Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment under pressure
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion and ethical conduct
•Effective verbal and written communication skills; collaborative team player
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with payroll software preferred
•Knowledge of Certified Payroll and OCIP is preferred
