Tracey Road Equipment, Inc. is seeking to hire full-time Parts Manager for our Utica Branch. The Parts Manager is responsible for running a profitable and efficient parts department. This position will accomplish objectives using proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, and security.
A successful candidate will:
•Develop, enforce and monitor guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
•Develop and maintain price schedules.
•Handle customer complaints in your area of responsibility immediately and according to the dealership’s guidelines.
•Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence.
•Develop systems to constantly track, and be able to report on parts turnover, obsolescence, Gross Return on Inventory, Parts Aging, Guide Quantities, Lost Sales, Etc.
•Establish individual parts inventory levels and balance them for maximum turnover, in cooperation with others.
•Set and enforce a policy on the special ordering of parts.
•Supervise stock order procedures.
•Analyze departmental operations and storage layout and revise as needed for maximum effectiveness.
•Coordinate a prompt, efficient and timely flow of paperwork, paying particular attention to parts sales per repair order, wreck estimates, issuance of credit memos, counter ticket filing, and purchase order matching and verification.
•Direct shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing. Establish S&R policy, wholesale routes, delivery timetables, check-in & inspection.
•Coordinate parts returns.
•Establish and maintain relationships with manufacturers that result in sound working arrangements.
•Enforce safety requirements, including but not limited to forklift training and operation, processing of MSDS sheets on all products carried, and OSHA right-to-know.
•Analyze sales, gross expense, and inventory on a monthly basis to maintain profit goals.
•Ensure that all purchases are properly accounted for before payment is made.
•Ensure that all parts are properly tagged to ensure that the dealership is recovering full credit from factory.
•Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all department staff under your responsibility.
•Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
•Collaborate and delegate to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
•Attend managers’ meetings as needed.
•Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that may affect parts operations.
