An exciting opportunity exists for Parts Inspector at our St. Joseph, MO location. The Parts Inspector is to support plant production within the Machine Shop.
SHIFT: 2nd and 3rd Shift PAY: $25.89
Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Conduct in-process inspections to verify the dimensions, surface quality, and integrity of semi-finished components, ensuring they meet required specifications and tolerances.
- Perform final inspections on finished steel products to validate their quality, dimensional accuracy, and overall conformance to customer requirements.
- Use a variety of precision measuring instruments and testing equipment, such as callipers, micrometers to perform accurate quality assessments and defect detection.
- Record inspection results, observations, and any non-conformities identified during inspections in detailed reports and databases.
- Communicate findings to management to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Adhere to established quality control procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain compliance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on quality control processes.
- Suggest corrective actions and implementing best practices to enhance overall efficiency and product quality.
- Operate an overhead crane as needed
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Qualifications:- 1-2 years' experience reading blueprints preferred
- 1-2 years' experience with micrometers or calipers preferred
- Attention to detail
- Safety oriented
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
