Our company is seeking field inspectors to conduct pre-purchase condition assessments of commercial trucks and equipment in various major metropolitan areas throughout the United States. This is an as needed, contract position.
The ideal candidates will possess at least three years of experience as a diesel technician or driver and have strong knowledge of truck, trailer and equipment maintenance. The candidate should be computer literate, be able to travel, work well independently, have a great eye for detail and have strong communication skills. The candidate will also need to have a flexible schedule during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. Weekend option is available for some assignments, as well. Technicians have the freedom to set their own appointments, within the required time frame of 72 business hours, from the time the order was received.
- Schedule appointment for inspection with the contact provided to you
- Examine engine, transmission and rear end for leaks at fittings or seals
- Check fluids for levels and evidence of contamination
- Start engine and move it out of position
- Assess the overall condition, identifying any excessive wear and tear or damaged areas
- Check diagnostics (using either on-board diagnostics and / or ECM scanner)
- Check all installed equipment (lights, horns, gauges, radio, A/C and any attached equipment to exterior) and document any deficiencies
- Take 70 to 100+ photos of subject vehicle
- Upload photos and file report, via our website
