Parks Technician I - Part-Time

Position Summary

The Parks Technician position is responsible for inspecting and maintaining the parks and grounds for several districts in the Central Texas region.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Performs daily rounds twice a week of park amenities on foot to pick up trash, empty trash bins, inspect condition of facilities and landscaping. Performs physical tasks to lift trash bags up to 50 lbs.

· Responds to Crossroads management and district utility management on daily tasks in park.

· Performs spot repairs as directed of playground and park facilities

· Inspects lighting and reports necessary repairs to management

· Provides support to District for special events as requested

· Completes monthly inspection report to provide to management.

· Provides skilled tasks to perform small construction work and repairs

· Prepares basic written and electronic correspondences with management

· Oversees subcontractors for specialized projects

· Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions

· Will complete other duties that may be assigned

· Must be able to work in all weather conditions

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED equivalent and 0-1 years of experience.

· Good verbal and written communications

· Ability to perform labor/maintenance work. Experience with use of small hand tools

· Proficiency in use of computers including Microsoft Outlook email

· Current Drivers’ License

· Prior experience in parks/grounds maintenance.

Physical Demand

· This position requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending, climbing and walking.

· The employee must be able to utilize their hands to operate tools and equipment.

· This position requires occasional heavy physical exertion, including the ability to lift over 50 pounds and exert over 75 pounds of force periodically.

· The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and depth perception.

Work Environment

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, bright and/or dim light, dust or pollen, intense noise levels, vibration, fumes or noxious odors.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
