Job Scope – Entry-Level Panel Technician

Position Title: Entry-Level Panel Technician Department: Panel Shop / Systems Integration Location: Carlsbad, NM Reports To: Lead Panel Technician, Systems Integration Manager Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

The Entry-Level Panel Technician supports the fabrication, assembly, and installation of electrical control panels and enclosures. This hands-on role includes shop work, occasional fieldwork, and opportunities for technical growth in electrical systems, automation, and programming. Candidates must be reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assemble and wire electrical control panels using schematics, layout drawings, and BOMs

- Mount enclosures on skids and industrial structures

- Thread and install conduit and pipe as needed

- Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of panels prior to shipment

- Deliver and pick up parts/tools from field sites

- Participate in field installations and on-site work as needed

- Learn to program Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs under supervision

- Operate or learn to operate the CNC machine and forklift

- Maintain a clean, organized work environment

- Support inventory, staging, and material handling

- Follow all safety standards, policies, and UL 508A requirements

- Work overtime and weekends when needed to meet project deadlines

- Stay engaged with team goals and communicate effectively with coworkers

- Honest, hardworking, and dependable

- Team-oriented and willing to take initiative

- Not afraid to get dirty and perform hands-on labor

- Comfortable with computers and basic Excel tasks

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus

- Forklift experience or willingness to be trained

- CNC machine familiarity is a plus

- Mechanically inclined with a desire to learn programming

- Basic understanding of electrical systems or willingness to learn

- Autocad

Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED

- Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one

- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks

- Willingness to travel locally for fieldwork

- Punctual, reliable, and open to working extended hours when required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
