Painter – Level2

Position summary:

Apply industrial coatings to simple and complicated fabricated parts. This process is performed inside paint booths using spray guns.

Tasks:

· Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers; specifically, but not limited to Zinc and Epoxy Primers.

· Select the correct spray gun system for the material being applied.

· Mix materials according to specific instructions

· Adjust paint equipment in order to get the proper paint flow and coating thickness.

· Disassemble, clean, and reassemble spray equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning duties.

· Apply protective coverings such as masking tape to articles or areas that could be damaged or stained by work processes.

· Prepare parts; scuff, sand, blow-off parts before painting.

· Clean and prepare surfaces for application of sealer.

· Seal armor according to military specification, using proper seam sealer substance and tools

· Mix and prepare sealer to desired consistency

· Apply beads of seam sealer, using trowels, brushes, guns or other applicators.

· Recognize appropriate drying time of seam sealer and work accordingly.

· Application test for Conversion Coating system

· Cleaning of parts for Conversion Coating.

· Conversion Coating Dipping process
