Job Summary:The Extrusion lead is responsible for ensuring that production personnel perform their duties safely and in compliance with company policies. This role involves managing and motivating a team to maintain high standards of housekeeping and organization. This position reports to the Extrusion Manager.
Required Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial calipers, feeler gauges, and protractors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and basic computer navigation.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a small team.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs as needed.
- Familiarity with operating and database systems such as Oracle and SCS.
- Complete monthly safety training.
- Complete touch audits on new team members.
- Complete Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and perform random audits to ensure compliance.
- Cultivate and drive a good culture of good housekeeping, organization, and cleanliness through leading by example, positive motivation, and efficient time management.
- Verify product dimensions, finish, and quality in relation to customer specifications, tolerances, and internal expectations.
- Understand and manage department workflow, including lot tickets, press schedules, tooling, log inventory levels, and material handling processes at the saw and through the age oven.
- Ensure smooth shift transitions by coordinating team readiness and communication.
