Packing and Shipping Clerk

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution center, focusing on the accurate handling of incoming and outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate will have experience in e-commerce environments and possess strong skills in order fulfillment, picking, and packing.

Duties

- Manage the receiving of incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders for accuracy.

- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling products for delivery.

- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks to move inventory safely.

- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and stock movements within the warehouse.

- Assist in order fulfillment processes to ensure timely delivery to customers.

- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve efficiency within the shipping and receiving department.

- Conduct regular stock checks and assist in inventory management tasks as needed.

- Utilize basic math skills to perform calculations related to shipping weights, dimensions, and quantities.

Requirements

- Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role or similar position within a warehouse environment is preferred.

- Familiarity with e-commerce operations is a plus.

- Proficiency in using warehouse equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks is highly desirable.

- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.

- Basic math skills for accurate inventory management and shipping calculations.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy.

- Physical capability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.

- A commitment to safety protocols within the warehouse setting.
