Essential Functions

· Manage shipping materials and supplies

· Count parts for wrapping/packing

· Hand-wrap sheet metal parts in paper, plastic and/or foam. These are often “cosmetic” parts requiring careful handling.

· Insert parts in cardboard boxes or stack on pallets

· Maintain accurate records

· Maintain clean and organized work station

· Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for most of the work day. Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently. Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, bending, stooping, and handling of materials. Must be able to use hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.

Work Environment

Environment is a sheet metal fabrication shop. Worker will be subject to high noise levels and exposed to heavy machinery. Worker may be exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles. Sheet metal can cause cuts and lacerations. Metal is highly conductive of thermal energy. Burns are possible when metal is exposed to open flames or a heat source. Inhaling sheet metal dust can increase the chances of respiratory illness. Exposure to oil and grease is possible. Machinery such as turrets, lasers, press brakes, shears, saws, and mills can cause bodily harm in the event of improper operation or malfunction.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
