Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Finance Manager and Accountant, performs clerical, accounting, and administrative activities. Duties include accounts payable, inventory, compiling agendas, taking meeting minutes, and related duties as assigned. This is a part-time, temporary position, 21-28 hours per week in-office; some evenings may be required. Estimated duration through the end of 2025.
Responsibilities
•Day-to-day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, coding, and recording AP data.
•Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments while adhering to company policies.
•Process and schedule payments.
•Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions in the general ledger.
•Assist with account reconcilliations with vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
•Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
•Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate coding of expenses.
•Utilize accounting software for data entry and reporting.
•Compile and post agendas for Board of Directors meetings.
•Other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
Preferred Knowlege, Skills, and Experience
•Knowledge of general accounting/bookkeeping principles.
•Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
•Experience with data entry and high degree of accuracy.
•Basic mathematical skills.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills for collaboration with vendors, internal teams, and Board Members.
•Comfortable asking questions and following directions.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
•Sufficient eyesight to read fine statistical reports and standard text and data on computer terminal screens
•Ability to speak and hear at normal conversational levels in person and over the telephone
•Ability to lift and carry up to approximately twenty-five pounds; reach, bend, or crouch to use files and records
•Manual dexterity to write legibly and to use calculators, computer terminals, and other general office machines
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES
Any combination of training and experience which demonstrates attainment of the required knowledge and ability to perform the required work (with reasonable accommodation, if needed), typically:
EDUCATION: Equivalent to graduation from high school.
EXPERIENCE: One year of clerical accounting, accounts payable, or general office experience.
