About Alpha Southwest
A distribution and service business for over 60 years, Alpha Southwest, an Impel Company, has grown into the largest deep-set turbine and water well contractor in New Mexico and far West Texas. Our El Paso facility, a satellite office and shop working in conjunction with our main site in Albuquerque, NM, serves the municipal, industrial, and commercial markets and focuses on major maintenance contracts that cover deep-set turbine pumps, fluid transferring booster pumps, wastewater submersible sewage pumps, and chemical dosing pumps. Our focus also extends to electrical services & instrumentation/controls, SCADA systems, flow measurement, valves, well rehabilitation & repair, and vertical turbine pump rehab & repair/replacement. In addition, we have fabrication and machining at both sites to support all these activities.

Territory Definition: West Texas and Southern New Mexico
This position will also provide the unique opportunity to cross-sell and cross-pollinate with other Impel Company services and products that may not be in our current contracts/market.
This role will:
•Focus on Municipalities (outside of El Paso), large agricultural businesses (Farms, ranches, dairies)
•Develop the necessary paperwork and requirements to do business with all federal agencies (labs, military bases, etc.)
•Build relationships with large general contractors who work in/with data centers, state and national parks, etc.
Responsibilities include:
•Maintaining relationships with existing customers by providing support, information, and guidance
•Managing relationships with contractors, distributors, engineering firms, and end-users
•Successfully soliciting and securing new customers in municipal, industrial, and Indian national water markets
•Collaborating with the inside team: pump, electrical, and motor to select the proper equipment
•Using pricing tools and following internal processes to secure costs for large bids and opportunities
•Learning the territory nuances and seeking feedback on the market to determine pricing strategies
•Following up on bids and opportunities to ensure customer satisfaction
•Project managing pump systems through the sales cycle from quoting to start-up – hand off to the operations project manager
•Scheduling and providing technical training sessions to support project design efforts
•Being available and responsive to customers in person, over the phone, via text, and through email correspondence while working through sometimes challenging problems and projects
•Continuing education of represented products, which may include traveling to manufacturer sites, attending tradeshows and conferences
•Working as part of a team, sharing knowledge, supporting each other, and striving to achieve the common goal of premier customer service
•Maintaining all information within the new CRM system
•Traveling to new and existing customer sites is expected throughout the defined territory
Qualifications:
•8 - 10 years of Outside Sales of Industrial and/or Construction equipment preferred
•Pumping systems and related technologies & service Industry experience a big plus
•Strong skills in building and maintaining client relationships
•Experience in account management and nurturing long-term customer loyalty
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and sales software
•Ability to identify customer pain-points and provide tailored solutions, demonstrating critical thinking and adaptability (Solution Selling)
•Experience working with cross-functional teams such as operations, service, project management and accounting to enhance the sales process
•Skills in identifying and qualifying leads and utilizing various prospecting methods—including networking and cold calling
•Demonstrating a mindset of continuous improvement, keeping up with industry developments, attending training sessions, and seeking feedback
•Ability to travel between 70-80% of the time; some overnight travel required
•Ability to pass initial pre-employment background and MVR check
•Ability to adhere to random drug-testing
This Position Provides:
•A Base Salary (range between $65k-$75k annually) plus an Uncapped Commission
•A company vehicle or a mileage and maintenance reimbursement program
