About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Origination in the Commercial Group, the principal role of the Origination Associate is to provide general support to the Origination team. A successful candidate will be a highly motivated and creative individual that is eager to develop their Origination skill set and to contribute to the success of the Origination team.

Responsibilities

- Perform market research to identify new product ideas and customer opportunities.

- Expand Origination network with outreach to new prospective customers.

- Work collaboratively with the Analytics team to price and evaluate new Origination opportunities.

- Respond to executable pricing requests in support of Mid-Marketing deal flow.

- Monitor the Origination portfolio and work with Trading team to optimize and rebalance hedge positions.

- Develop presentation materials and other supporting documents for customer presentations and to support management approvals of new transactions.

- Utilize CRM to track Origination customer interactions and transaction pipeline.

- Create materials to support new business strategies (ie. new market entry).

- Support the Origination team with ad-hoc tasks from time-to-time.

Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.

- At least 2 years in commodity markets as an Origination, Trading, Structuring, or Risk analyst, or similar role.

- Understanding of commodity markets and commonly traded products.

- Proficient in Excel and VBA.

- Strong analytics and problem-solving skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

- Strong interpersonal skills, able to influence and build relationships as a participant in a team environment.

- Self-motivated and proactive; ability to work independently on multiple tasks/projects.

- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels.

Pay range and compensation package

- Base Salary = $120,000 - $160,000 plus bonus potential
