Repsol Renewables North America is seeking a motivated professional with a strong interest in US electricity markets and data analytics. The to help drive the origination of offtake agreements for our growing pipeline of utility-scale wind, solar and battery storage projects.
This position is based in Downtown Houston with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
- Support the Origination team to originate, negotiate and execute and manage power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other offtake contracts
- Support transaction process from start to finish including responding to RFPs and/or assist in bilateral discussions, contract negotiations, and internal approval processes
- Perform regional market research and data analysis and competitive landscape analysis
- Create presentations to effectively communicate analyses and approvals internally
- Establish and maintain relationships with offtakers including utilities, municipals, cooperatives as well as non-utility offtakers (e.g., C&I, retail energy suppliers)
- Help steer the company’s pipeline strategy by identifying new opportunities and locations for project development based on observation of changes in market dynamics
- Other duties as assigned
- Strong interest in structuring, preparing, negotiating and securing PPAs and other offtake agreements (renewable energy or other commodities)
- Some degree of knowledge of power markets, robust analytical skills, and high level of attention to detail
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to cultivate business relationships
- Ability to interact professionally and collegially with cross-functional internal teams
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills
- Ability to travel as needed i.e. to attend conferences, or other travel to support business needs
- Must be fully authorized to work indefinitely in the US for any company without limitations, restrictions, program requirements, or sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not eligible for sponsorship or limited term employment through CPT/OPT programs.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree; Master’s Degree a plus
- 1-3 years of work experience in a related industry desired but not required; transaction experience a plus
