We are hiring a Full Time
Wastewater Operator I
II or IV,
with
Membrane System experience,
working in our San Tan District. This individual will report to the San Tan's
Copper Basin
wastewater plant.
The
Wastewater Operator I
II or IV,
performs skilled and semi-skilled and skilled work in the operation and maintenance of wastewater plant systems. Performs plant operations duties including checking, troubleshooting, and improving wastewater pumping and treatment facilities.
What you’d be responsible for
•Performs work involving the operations, maintenance and control of wastewater plants and lift
stations;
monitoring operations, analyzing chemical processes, canvassing the process and performing various functions in process controls
in the operation, maintenance, control, and repair of all related plant process equipment
including;
pumps, motors, chlorinators, chemical feeds, and basic laboratory instruments to ensure treated wastewater meets County, State and EPA quality standards
•Obtains samples and performs testing
•Operates, monitors, and adjusts, as necessary, all related plant process equipment, including chemical pumps
•Conducts various tests to determine proper chemical feed rates, calculates chemical feed rates and changes pump settings as needed
•Monitors telemetry systems
•Assists in the safe unloading and storage of chemicals
equipment adjustments, lubrications, minor repairs and reports equipment problems
•Makes field repairs on motors, pumps, and valves
•Performs housekeeping duties

keep all facilities clean and neat

What’s required to be successful
•Knowledge of membrane systems
processes

•Knowledge of the operation, methods, practices, techniques and servicing requirements of wastewater treatment and pumping facilities, and wastewater collection facilities
•Knowledge of safety practices in the operation of electrical and mechanical equipme
nt used in wastewater facilities
•Good knowledge of procedures, materials, tools, equipment and safety hazards and precautions common to assigned
area
of responsibility
•Able to continually lift, bend, climb stairs and work with mechanical hand tools
•Ability to perform accurate arithmetic computations
•Ability to perform standardized wastewater laboratory analyses; familiarity with wastewater rules and regulations
•Ability to read and interpret meters, charts, gauges and recording devices
•Ability to keep neat and accurate records and make computer entries
•Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and re
gulations
