Description:
Prairie Field Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee daily crude oil transportation and field operation activities in the Williston North Dakota area. This role combines field supervision responsibilities with broader operational oversight, serving as a key liaison between drivers, dispatch, leadership, and customer field representatives. This position will report to and work closely with the Rocky Mountains Operations Manager to successfully drive forward the companies strategic goals. The ideal candidate will bring oilfield service experience, safety & compliance knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and a hands-on approach to both field and administrative operations. This role is designed with long-term growth in mind. As our operations in the region expand, the right candidate will have the opportunity to advance into a North Dakota Operations Manager position. This advancement will be based on both the success of our operations in the area and the candidate’s demonstrated leadership, performance, and ability to drive results.
•Report to and Collaborate with the Rocky Mountains Operations Manager to align field performance with company Goals and Values.
•Direct and supervise field service teams to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met.
•Perform field audits and driver observations to ensure DOT, HSE, and internal policy compliance.
•Spend consistent time in the field supporting drivers.
•Investigate routes, well sites, and LACTs to maintain and update journey management plans.
•Develop and maintain an understanding of the requirements of all governing agencies as applicable
•Provide ongoing training and mentoring to drivers on safety procedures, operational policies, and compliance.
•Respond to field incidents and support investigation efforts including data collection and reporting.
•Build and maintain strong working relationships with customer field contacts to ensure service satisfaction and issue resolution.
•Promote a culture of proactive communication and collaboration with Drivers, Customers, Third-party vendors, and Internal departments.
•Assist in strategic planning and bid preparation in partnership with executive leadership.
•Ensure data integrity and adherence to policies using transportation management and information systems.
•Support the Administrative team with timely and accurate information from the field.
•Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to industry and legal rules and regulations
•Promote and maintain a culture of safety through routine audits, training, and awareness campaigns.
•Ensure compliance with all applicable DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and internal safety regulations.
•Report on safety, risks, and areas for improvement regularly.
•Serve as a communication bridge between executive management and field operations.
•Identify and implement proactive solutions to operational challenges.
•Travel regularly to field locations to provide support, coaching, and oversight.
•Will perform all other essential duties as assigned.
Requirements:
•5+ years of oilfield or energy services experience (required); supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
•Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements preferred.
•Team player and collaborates well with others
•Background in vehicle maintenance preferred.
•Dispatch or logistics coordination experience preferred (willing to train).
•Proficient with technology used like Tablets, computers, cell phones.
•Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and HSE compliance requirements.
•Excellent communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.
•Must possess attention to detail and ability to manage varied tasks at the same time
•Must have a Positive attitude and be self-motivated
•Ability to travel frequently, and work extended including nights and weekends as needed is required.
