Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day field operations and ensuring service excellence across our lawn care and pest control services. This role oversees the performance of technicians, manages scheduling, optimizes resource allocation, and upholds safety and quality standards. The Operations Manager plays a key role in staff development, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and human resources functions including hiring, payroll coordination, and disciplinary action.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Performance•Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of technicians in both lawn and pest services.
•Provide ongoing performance feedback and conduct employee evaluations.
•Monitor route efficiency, service quality, and customer feedback.
Operational Oversight
•Oversee daily technician scheduling, routing, and work order completion for services.
•Ensure compliance with company standards, licensing, and safety regulations.
•Analyze production reports, identify operational gaps, and implement improvements.
•Maintain accurate records related to inventory, equipment usage, and labor.
Customer Experience
•Partner with sales and customer service to ensure high customer satisfaction.
•Handle escalated customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
•Ensure technicians follow proper communication and service procedures in the field.
Staffing, Training & Compliance
•Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new technicians.
•Ensure all technicians meet required certifications and maintain licensing.
•Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
•Lead weekly safety meetings.
Human Resources & Payroll Coordination
•Partner with the Talent Acquisition Team to execute recruiting, interviewing, and selection processes.
•Manage local disciplinary actions and documentation in coordination with HR.
•Track and approve time records, ensure accurate payroll submission and adherence to labor laws.
•Support employee relations by resolving concerns fairly and consistently.
•Uphold confidentiality and HR best practices in all personnel matters.
Equipment & Inventory Management
•Oversee fleet, equipment, and material availability and readiness.
•Coordinate preventive maintenance and timely repairs of field equipment and vehicles.
•Track chemical and material usage to ensure inventory is maintained and regulatory compliance is met.
Compensation: This is a salary, non-exempt position. The salary range is $75,000 - $90,000 depending on experience.
Qualifications
•3–5 years of experience in operations or field management (lawn care, pest control, or related industry preferred).
•Proven leadership and team management skills.
•Understanding of HR processes including hiring, payroll, and disciplinary procedures a plus.
•Strong understanding of route optimization, service metrics, and labor management.
•Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
