This is a progressive position with Telco Steel Works Ltd. in Guelph, ON, a fabricator of structural steel buildings. This job is the beginning of a career where you will learn the different operations tasks and responsibilities of our business. Telco has many different jobs that involve industrial painting, shipping, material handling with forklifts and overhead cranes, CNC machine operation, surface preparation and structural steel fitting and welding.

The General Operations – Level 1 position is a full-time, permanent, entry level support roll that gives you the basis for understanding how our fabrication process works and is the basis for progressing to other duties as your skill level and knowledge improves. The successful applicant can progress to any of the jobs within Telco Steel Works and will receive company supported training and development in the task/role. The successful applicant will receive MLITSD (Ministry of Labour) approved training to ensure their safety in the operation of the various processes that we utilize.

Duties of a General Operations -Level 1 employee can include painting, loading, material handling, assistance with machine operation and repair/maintenance on an as-required basis. You may also be tasked to process materials on a saw or shear and help build a load for shipping to the erection site.
