The Operations Engineer will design and supervise various phases of completions operations.
- Create well completion designs and write procedures on a well-by-well basis
- Supervise hydraulic fracturing operations in the field and develop creative ways to improve operations efficiency
- Optimize completion costs while maximizing performance
- Communicate effectively with and work cooperatively with field supervisory personnel on all phases of the completion process
- Perform field studies and evaluate completion techniques
- Actively participate in operations team meetings
- Promote and model safe and environmentally sound practices
- Prepare well cost estimates by acquiring bids from vendors for required goods and services
- Proactively seek to become more knowledgeable through training, reading, and networking around the industry
- Review invoices for work performed with regard to accuracy and correctness
- Present completion proposals and results to management or others as directed
- Work with water consultants to design, budget and build waterlines and find water sources necessary for completions operations
- Other related duties as necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or other appropriate Engineering discipline
- Experience with well fracture design software is a plus
- 3 years of industry experience
- Experience with fracture stimulation design and execution, fluid and core studies, multi-stage fracturing technology, down-hole tools and completions systems experience in vertical and horizontal wells, and tubular selection and design
- Working knowledge of well construction including geology, drilling, completion, production, and reservoir engineering
- Understands the first order parameters in hydraulic fracturing
- Position subject to 24-hour call
Ability to drive distances, walk on well locations, sit for extended periods of time in a vehicle or office, ability to type on a keyboard, and ability to present oral and written communications.
