The High Desert Power Project is a 3x1 combined cycle facility with a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Water Treatment Plant. Major equipment includes 3 Siemens 501 FD3 Combustion Turbines with Alstom Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG's), Toshiba 330 MW Steam Turbine/Generator, Actiflo Clarifier, Cold Lime Softening using Microfiltration, Reverse Osmosis, and HPD Forced Circulation Crystallizer.
The O&M Technician's core responsibilities encompass the seamless operation of power plant systems, spanning from start-up to shutdown phases. They adeptly manage a range of major auxiliary apparatus, from air compressors to boiler water treatment systems, ensuring optimal functioning. Additionally, they conduct routine inspections, execute minor repairs, and diligently monitor equipment performance, collaborating closely with Control Room Operators to maintain operational efficiency. With a keen eye for detail, they conduct water chemistry analyses, maintain meticulous logs, and promptly report any irregularities, embodying a proactive approach to maintenance and operational excellence.

Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Working with hazardous materials is required. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.
This position offers a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, "Modified Dupont Schedule". Position may require extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.
The initial starting hourly rate of pay will range from $35.78 - $48.22 depending on experience.
