Description
The Operations Analyst – Production Systems reports directly to the Operations Technology Implementation Manager and is responsible for stewarding the management of production data—acquiring, validating, and disseminating it across systems and teams. This role prepares daily and weekly operational reports, assists with monthly operated and non-operated production reporting, and responds to ad-hoc data and project requests.
Additionally, this position is responsible for the filing of oil and gas regulatory reports with the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (AOGCC) and the transfer of production data to the SAP PRA (Production and Revenue Accounting) system. The analyst will collaborate closely with Operations, PP&A, Finance/Revenue, and Regulatory departments to support accurate and timely reporting throughout the production close process.
Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
Promote and lead in the implementation of policies and procedures, including Safety, health, environment, process, people and planning
Validate and reconcile production data (volumes, well tests, downtime) prior to interfacing with other systems.
Manage the transfer of validated production data to the SAP PRA system, ensuring accurate and timely processing for accounting and reporting.
Analyze field data to identify trends, discrepancies, or reporting issues.
Prepare and/or review daily and monthly production reports, including prior period adjustments for operated and non-operated assets.
Prepare and submit required AOGCC production reports, including any applicable corrections or prior period adjustments.
Set up and maintain master data (wells, delivery networks, measurement points, etc.) in production operations systems in collaboration with PP&A.
Support new well setup, including first production and sales notifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Subsurface, Finance, Regulatory, etc.) to resolve data issues and support monthly close.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Technology Implementation Manager.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Formal Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Operations, Economics, or related field – or equivalent work experience.
- Applicants must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States and must have their employment eligibility verified by a completed Form I-9.
- Working knowledge of production operations systems such as P2, EnergySys, and data analysis tools.
- Experience with regulatory reporting; AOGCC is a plus.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and in a team setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional projects or special initiatives.
