We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Operations & Maintenance Manager for our O&M site to be based in Port Gentil, Gabon. Are you ready to come onboard?
- Implement HSE policies and practices to ensure that Wärtsilä standards are achieved, minimizing damage to life, property, health, safety, environment, and business reputation.
- Ensure required skills and competencies are available at the site to operate the power plant safely and efficiently
- Contribute to the profitability of the company through proper planning, organizing, leading, and controlling all operation and maintenance activities of the power plant.
- Achieve Wärtsilä's contractual obligations and plant performance in terms of thermal efficiency, plant availability, and reliability
- Develop an annual operation and maintenance plan and ensure the execution of all scheduled and unscheduled operation and maintenance activities of plant machinery and equipment as per OEM guidelines
- Ensure service work reports for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance works for the main engine and auxiliary systems.
- Provide monthly or annual reports as required
- Regularly review Maximo, Estimo, business management dashboard, and other IM tools and applications related to the Agreement management process and procedures.
- Follow up on pending items with the relevant departments on a weekly basis
- Analyze O&M statistical data and trends and take proper action if needed
- Conduct annual plant technical evaluations and submit reports with action plans
- Raise any technical issues with plant equipment with Technical Service and OEM in real-time to implement solutions as quickly as possible.
- Manage inventory by keeping track of safety, planned maintenance spare parts, tools, and ordering and consumption weekly and monthly with relevant sections
- Track fuel, lube oil, and chemical supplies and consumption, ensuring adequate quantities on site for the smooth operation of the power plant
- Perform other assignments as required by the Head of Department
- Periodically review operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Oversee implementation of maintenance strategies and plans that enable optimal conditions for production
- Manage agreements to ensure all agreements in place to deliver O&M services to our customer are executed as per agreement terms and conditions with no deviation in deliverables or receivables
- Investigate the incident identify root cause and implement recommendations within the timeframe given
- Lead and train O&M personnel to build a motivated and skilled team.
- Develop their competence through continuous training and process improvement, and motivate them to achieve excellence in work performance.
- Ensure the O&M team completes applicable certifications in the AM PSM portal on time
- Prepare the plant's annual cost plan for O&M expenses and submit it to the Agreement Manager within the timeline for approval
- Track budgeted figures bi-weekly with the concerned department to ensure zero cost overrun
- Formulate, implement, and control the maintenance operating budget
- Work closely with the Finance team to ensure activities are completed within yearly budgets
- Ensure reporting requirements aligned with the O&M agreement, such as daily generation reports and monthly reports
- Implement procedures to ensure environmental compliance as per the environmental management plan given in the O&M agreement.
- Overall, 15 years of experience with atleast 5 years of managerial experience in O&M of a Gas or HFO fuelled powerplant.
- Basic exposure on CMMS (Computerised machinery management systems) such as Maximo is must have
- Strong financial term understanding
- Experience in customer relations & customer management
- Proficiency in English & French language is a must
- Handson experience on SAP will be preferred
