Operating Technology Specialist

Laclede Electric Cooperative is looking for an Operating Technology Specialist to help build, support, and secure the advanced systems that keep our electric distribution humming.

You’ll work hands-on with tools like GIS, SCADA, AMI, and more, collaborating with engineering and IT to integrate systems, streamline processes, and boost reliability. Position Title: Operating Technology Specialist Department: Engineering Employment Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Non-Union

What you can expect:

- Supporting and maintaining network systems, databases, and hardware used for operating technologies (LANs, WANs, mobile data, etc.)

- Assisting in the setup and optimization of GIS, SCADA, AMI, OMS, field design, and mobile work systems.

- Working with IT to integrate OT systems with business systems (think seamless tech harmony).

- Supporting mobile and web access to operating tech systems.

- Backing up data, building disaster recovery plans, and being a cyber-shield for our OT systems.

- Keeping things locked down — physically and digitally — with top-tier security protocols.

- Making sure confidential info stays that way, with strict adherence to policies and the principle of least privilege.

What We’re Looking For

- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, or something closely related.

- Experience in utility tech like GIS and AMI systems is preferred.

- Experience in supporting networks, domains, and databases is required.

- The ability to communicate, work well in a team environment, self-driven, a willingness to learn.

- Must have a valid driver’s license.

- Must pass a drug screening.
