RECON is currently seeking a Early to Mid Career Engineer, Geologist or Petroleum Technologist to add to our operational group. This is an Entry to Mid level position for this discipline, and you will train under the supervision of an appropriate front-line leader in both Operator and Supervisor roles to gain knowledge. Exposure to Open Hole Logging/Cased Hole Logging, Well Logs, and petroleum systems, with field work in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin is key. We are looking for someone who has been on a rig floor and wellsite and has a general idea of well operations. You will oversee the operation and scheduling of an Open Hole Logging unit (Supervisor and 2 Operators), ensuring the efficient and accurate acquisition of RECON's STANDARD and HDDTM (High Definition Data) log data while professionally interacting with wellsite supervision. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Gain familiarity with surface systems and open hole tools through field work
· Assist in tool maintenance, checks and calibrations in shop
· Supervising, planning and preparation for well site operations
· Supervision of crew at wellsite and pre/post job
· Conduct wellsite data retrieval and customer relations
· Prompt submission of all pertinent data for logging programs
· On location printing and distribution of Field Copy logs
· Short notice availability and rotational work schedule
· Promote and ensure compliance with HSE and Service Quality standards and practices
Successful candidates ideally have (however not necessary) a post-secondary education in geology, engineering or petroleum engineering technology. Relevant experience in the well logging industry may supersede post secondary education. Must have a valid driver’s license for the appropriate field vehicle assigned (minimum Class 5). Radiation Safety, H2S Alive, WHMIS, CSO and Standard Fist Aid training would be an asset.
· Willingness to travel to the US for Training and Seasonal Work
· Current Class 3 or willingness to obtain
· Field Bonus upon completion of probationary period
· 15 and 6 Rotation (Peak work Nov - Mar so on call and go hard during this time)
· 50% (majority of heavy workload between Nov and Mar)
