Oilfield Automation Technician

The Position: We are looking for a Journeyman Automation Technician. The pay starts at $50 per hour for qualified applicants and goes up based on experience. We work 50-60+ hours a week in the oilfield and have a great team you will work with. The type of work can range from programming and commissioning a controller and location to taking out and replacing defective equipment. Required Skills:
•3+ years in Automation / Programming experience in an industrial setting ~OR~ 2-year degree and 2+ years field experience in an industrial setting
•Proficient withing Allen Bradly Studio 5000/ RS Logix 500
•Comfortable around low voltage (12v – 480v)
•Familiar with the use of tools and equipment used to troubleshoot and function check instruments
•Familiar with setting up and function testing one of the following VFDs.
•Power Flex, Toshiba, Siemens, GE and ABB
•Organizational skills and attention to detail.
•North Dakota Electrical Journeyman License
Desired Skills:
•Proficiency in programming with the following programs
•2.4 – 5 GHz Wifi communications
•Journeyman Electrical License
Responsibilities:
•Here at Wescom we offer a wide range of support to a variety of clients in the oil Industry. Our team is dedicated to bringing knowledge technicians in to support these needs.
•New Facility Commissioning
•Scada and radio networking
•Daily Corrective Work Orders
•Upgrades within older facilities, this includes upgrading of electrical components and operational programs needed for automation.
•Electrical Code, Safety & QA
•Using Wiring Diagrams to located root cause of issues while troubleshooting
•Troubleshooting without wiring diagrams
•Edit basic programming of PLC's and HMIs in Rockwell Automation software.
•Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation i.e., transmitters, analyzers, control valves, switches, relays, etc. Troubleshoot and perform basic electrical maintenance on motors, motor controls, LACT units, saltwater disposals, along with PLC controllers and instrumentation.
•Perform and document the installation, programming, calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automation equipment, and electrical instruments and systems.
•The ability to operate independently or as a team.
•Being the last line to ensure all safety systems are functional.
