Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI), an engineering consulting firm dedicated to the analysis and prevention of mechanical and structural failures for a variety of industries, is seeking a candidate for a Metallurgical Engineer, at a Consultant or Senior Consult level. The successful candidate will provide metallurgical and failure analysis services with a focus on the power industry, and provide occasional field support on high energy piping condition assessment projects. This position is based in SI’s Material Science Center in Austin, Texas, and requires a minimum B.S. degree in metallurgy or materials engineering and 10+ years of experience related to metallurgical failure analysis or condition assessment services. Project management experience, and detailed knowledge of destructive laboratory testing, metallography, and microscopy related to power generation and general industrial component failures is desired. Candidates should either have a PE license or have an identified path toward PE licensure. This is a laboratory-based position with potential for advancement to include management responsibilities.
