Job Summary
NAES is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Manager for a BESS Project in Michigan. The QA/QC Manager is responsible for implementing, administering, and overseeing the project’s quality control plan, ensuring compliance with contractual specifications, regulatory codes, and industry best practices. This role involves inspecting work quality, managing testing and documentation, and coordinating with project teams to resolve quality issues while maintaining adherence to safety and construction standards.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities•Develop, implement, and maintain the project’s QA/QC plan, ensuring all quality requirements are met.
•Conduct inspections, audits, and testing of construction materials, equipment, and workmanship.
•Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project specifications.
•Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective action tracking.
•Coordinate QA/QC documentation, including material certifications, weld logs, testing reports, and as-built drawings.
Job Requirements
•Strong knowledge of QA/QC principles and BESS-related codes (NFPA, NEC, UL standards)
•Experience reviewing blueprints, drawings, technical documents, and specifications for QA/QC compliance.
•Proficiency in weld mapping, bolt-up flange mapping, and material traceability (MTRs).
•Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve quality deficiencies proactively.
•Ability to lead quality audits and work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors.
Physical Requirements
•Ability to walk, stand, climb ladders/stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs in a construction environment.
•Must be able to use personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, gloves, and safety glasses.
Education / Experience
•High school diploma required.
•5+ years of QA/QC experience in heavy industrial, commercial or infrastructure construction
•QA/QC certification or training (e.g., AWS, CWI, NACE, API, ASQ) preferred
