Radiation Protection Technician I or Radiation Protection Technician II

Summary

Radiation Protection Technicians are responsible for providing radiological protection of the work force during routine and post-accident conditions, including surveys, dose assessment, and conservative decision making.

Responsibilities and Duties* Perform surveys of rooms and plant areas to document and identify changing radiological conditions

Basic/ Required Qualifications Radiation Protection Technician I* High School Diploma or Equivalent (e.g. GED)

Radiation Protection Technician II* Two year degree (Associate of Science) in radiation protection, or nuclear navy training, or equivalent education or training programs. A minimum of three years of experience in lieu of a degree

Desired Qualifications* Associates degree from a college accredited by the Institute of Nuclear Power Operators (INPO)

Specific Requirements:* Willing to relocate to within 75 minutes of nuclear plant in order to meet requirements of Emergency Response Organization (ERO) responsibilities which could include callouts with a defined response time to the site and an on call duty rotation requiring the employee to be Fit for Duty.
