North Field Mechanic – Deer Park, WA

Starting rate $39.86/hour

Hours per shift: Monday through Friday/ 8 Hours a day

Overtime Required: 10%-20%

Western contractor to the mining industry has an opening for an experienced Field Mechanic. This position is based in Deer Park, WA. Requirements include: No DUI within the past 5 years, no felonies, must be 21 years of age, must have a valid U.S. driver’s license for at least 12 months and drug screen required. This position performs troubleshooting, welding, mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance on vehicles, equipment and installations used at Shop and mine site locations if necessary. Experience in Repair and Maintenance of Class 8 Truck Chassis, experience in Industrial Electricity –preferred but not required.

Experience with explosive related products and services or other hazardous materials is not required, but desired. For those who are new to the industry, extensive training will be provided.

Job Requirements:

· CDL B is required, Class A is preferred but not required at time of hire. Must acquire within 3 months of hire date.

· Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, or kneel for extended periods of time on frequent basis as well as lift and carry loads up to fifty-five pounds for multiple hours per day.

· Must enjoy working outside in the western United States, as well as being exposed to changes in temperatures and humidity on a frequent or continuous basis.

· Must be willing to learn and understand all the health and safety aspects of the blasting and explosives industry.

· Must be willing to learn and grow your skills and abilities to the benefit of yourself and others.

· No felonies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Repair and troubleshooting of 12-24 Volt Electrical systems. Welding experience- preferred but not required. CDL/Class B required, Class A is preferred. Strong work ethic and motivation to perform task independently. Willingness to learn advanced skills. Starting pay is $37.21 per hour. Computer Literate with the ability to provide strong, positive safety attitude and have excellent

interpersonal and verbal communication skills

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out

instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems

involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

ENVIRONMENATAL FACTORS: Possible exposure to temperature extremes, dust

hazardous materials, wildlife and working in and around moving equipment.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, gloves, high visibility clothing,

and weather protection

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use

hands to manipulate, handle or feel substances, objects, tools, or controls; and talk or

hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee

is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or

crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift

and/or move up to 100 pounds. Visual abilities required by this job include close vision,

distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
