This is a project position based out of Houston TX. Candidates should have a strong knowledge in welding processes, and structural and pipe fabrication. This position will primarily be responsible for working to ensure the management of the quality standards for pipeline and structural projects during construction, for all related materials, structures, equipment, components, and systems.
- Ensure that the construction project plans are properly executed and evaluate the effectiveness of controls delineated in the PQP/ITP and implementing procedures
- Perform or verify that all required construction QC sampling, lab or other testing and documentation are performed correctly
- Perform acceptance and rejection of services or completed work
- Perform surveillances of project operations
- Provide reports of observation and test results
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
- Provide project turnover documents as required by project specifications.
- Present business cases and facts to influence their organization's leaders and their respective Quality teams
- Apply knowledge and solutions to ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and internal Wood standards.
- Prioritize, plan, perform and communicate activities in both written and verbal form.
- Work independently while demonstrating strong qualities and integrity.
- Manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
- Coordinate multiple activities and provide QA oversight for multiple contractors and crafts- 8+ years of relevant experience (preferably in the associated industry)
- Comprehensive understanding of ISO 9001
- AWS certified welding inspector (CWI) is preferred
- Proficient in the analysis of processes and data
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience working with quality management systems
- Computer literacy applied to data management, collection, and reporting.
- Must be a self-starter, organized, detailed oriented
- Must be experienced in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- High Level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
- Proficient in the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques
- Experience with construction quality management tools and working knowledge of quality guidelines (.i.e. ASME/AWS/ACI/API/ICC/NACE) preferred
- Knowledgeable regarding measurement and test equipment (MT&E) is preferred
- Knowledge pertaining to welding, pressure testing, coating, and torquing.
- Must pass drug test, physical and background check
- Degree/diploma or local equivalent in Quality management, project management, or related discipline (desirable)
- Formal training in recognized root cause analysis techniques (desirable)
