- Work closely with production and maintenance supervision, along with outside departments, to ensure environmental compliance, safe functionality of the plant operation, and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist with projects through all aspects of experimental design, engineering, construction, and commissioning.
- Support automation initiatives targeting data collection and/or process variance control.
- Support regular process assessments to identify opportunities to maximize throughput and/or decrease production/maintenance costs.
- Intervene, as necessary, to ensure the health and safety of all employees, as well as protect the environment and NGM assets.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate metallurgy/chemical engineering program at a Canadian university (required).
- Eligibility for a TN Scientific Technician visa* (required).- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies (required).
- Must be age 21+ and possess a valid driver’s license (required).- Minimum eight-month commitment (required). We are not pursuing four-month co-op placements at this time.
- Ability to research, analyze information, and draw conclusions (required).
- Knowledge of commonly used water treatment process/techniques (preferred).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (required).
- Basic knowledge of modelling/simulation tools (JKSIMMET, METSIM) (preferred).
- Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in complex gold metallurgical and processing analysis (asset).
- Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and manage several projects simultaneously (required).
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills (required).
